BFF Exhibition 2023 Terms & Conditions
DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES: Tuesday 31 October, 3pm.
THEMES
This exhibition is open to all subject matter. The themes we are offering prizes in are:
Examples: A portrait could be a painting or sculpture.
MEDIUMS
We are accepting artworks of the following:
NUMBER OF WORKS
Participants may submit up to two works.
Works submitted must be new, and completed in the last 12 months .
CURATION
The BFAC reserves the right to exercise curatorial judgement based on the number and type of work proposed.
IMAGES OF WORK
Each artwork submitted for the BFF Exhibition must be accompanied by with a digital image of the work, in .jpg or .png format, between 1MB and 3MB. These images could be used for promotional purposes so please ensure they clearly show the artwork and have neutral background (cropping the image is also acceptable).
All images/file names must be labelled to match the entry form: SURNAMEgivenname_artworktitle_BFF2023
If artwork is not named to this convention, we cannot accept your entry.
If the photo of your work was taken by someone else, please credit the photographer by adding their name and the END of your file name.

PROMOTION & DOCUMENTATION OF WORK
By submitting your application, entrants agree to allow reproduction of their work in part or in full for publicity and promotional purposes only for the BFF Exhibition. BFAC will attribute the artist wherever practical. If the BFAC uses such images for the promotion of BFAC, the result of that use is the intellectual property of the BFAC.
SALE OF ARTWORK
Commission of 25% of sales of artwork is paid the gallery. All artworks must be for sale, excluding Moving Images. Artists set the retail price on the entry form. Payments for sales will be forwarded to the artist within one month of the end date of the exhibition.
WALL BASED ARTWORK
The size limit for wall-based artwork is 1 metre x 1 metre.
Artworks must be suitably presented for hanging and adhere to the hanging requirements of the gallery. The curator has the right to refuse works deemed not suitable for hanging.
Hanging requirements: artwork must be dry with properly affixed D rings 10cm from the top of the work, and a firmly attached hanging wire.
3D ARTWORK
Artwork must NOT have a base larger than 0.5m2 and not exceed 2m in height. 3D artworks must be free standing, have a stable base and be no heavier than 15kg per component.
DIGITAL
There is limited capacity for multimedia art, however we encourage artists to contact us to discuss before lodging your entry form.
FRAGILE WORK
There is limited capacity to protect work- it may not be possible to meet all requests and work may have to be declined.
WITHDRAWAL OF WORK
Work MUST be available for viewing for the entire duration of the exhibition.
DELIVERY OF ARTWORK
All artwork is to be delivered to the BFAC on .
Each work must be clearly marked with artist name and title of work.
COLLECTION OF ARTWORK
All unsold work must be collected on January 12th 1pm- 3pm
It is the artists sole responsibility to collect unsold work.
OTHER
While all reasonable care will be taken, the BFAC will accept no responsibility for damage to work during installation, display or demount of the exhibition. The participating artist is responsible for:
ENTRY FEE
ALL entrants must pay a $25 entry fee per artwork/plinth. Entry fee includes GST. All proceeds from entries fund exhibition related expenses.

- Works on paper (eg. pastels, drawing, printmaking, photography digital)
- Sculpture (free standing, wall works etc)
- Mixed media (paint, paper, objects)
- Craft/ design (ceramics textiles etc)
- Moving image (digital animation, short film, video)
