The Cooroy Butter Factory Pottery Studio is a community studio for potters of all different skill levels, equipped with wheels, slab roller, extruder, kilns and plenty of work space.
Our creative environment is perfect for working on pottery projects with fellow members. If you are just starting your clay journey, book in to one of our pottery classes with experienced potters in one of our classes. |

BUTTER FACTORY MEMBERSHIP
Our Butter Factory Membership gives you access to our untutored, independent working space and firing services.
BYO clay, tools, glazes etc.
Annual membership: $40 per financial year
Daily studio hire: $3/HOUR
Firing Costs: $15/kg for members.
This fee includes 1x bisque and 1x glaze firing.
Firing fees are to be paid on delivery of greenware.
ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL INFO
Please ensure your membership is up to date. As we transition to our new app, there is a list of names on the damp room door to help you locate your membership expiry. When it's time to renew, you can use our QR code on the front door of the pottery to re-join via our new membership app. You can also pay for membership on the website as usual (the online form now links to our new app). Once you have paid for membership via the app, you will be notified automatically via the app when your next renewal is due. Renewal is 12 months from time of payment (not per financial year as before).
BUILD AN EXHIBITION PROFILE
As a bonus, all members are now eligible to exhibit work in our popular Biannual ECLECTICA exhibition held at the end of the year! Check our website for entry applications. There are always great prizes on offer. Let's see more beautiful ceramics on exhibition!
SIGN IN
Please make it a habit to sign into the diary as soon as you enter the pottery and then pay your daily hire fee before you sit down to work. You can pay in the pottery office (reception permitting) or in the gallery shop.
STUDIO HIRE FEE
As usual, the studio hire fee is $3/hour. NB This hire fee covers working in our studio or the large outdoor area, whether you are hand building, glazing your work, or wheel throwing.
ENROLLED STUDENTS
All who use the studio must be current members and pay the studio hire fee. Students on our ten-week courses who wish to use the studio in their own time must be members if they want to practice outside of class times. Enrolled students also need to pay the daily hire fee for practice time. If you're doing a make-up class due to absence, the hire fee doesn't apply.
