If you have experience working on the wheel or have previously done the Intro to Wheel Throwing 101, this ones for you!
We go beyond the fundamentals of wheel throwing and cover the next level of wheel throwing techniques and applications.
Our experienced tutor offers expert advise and guidance. Clay, tools and firing of 5 pieces included.

Intro to Hand Building 
Build your ceramics skill set and explore the world of hand building in this 10 week course. Learn the basics of coil building, slab building and mould making to create your own sculptural wares.
Ideal for beginners or as a refresher course.
Basic tools and a bag of clay will be provided.
Ticket price include studio hire daily fee and firing fees for one piece.

Glazing 101
​Beginner's Course in Glaze Making & Application

A beginner friendly introduction into the world of glazing. This comprehensive 4 week workshop covers both mixing raw materials to make your own glazes and multiple application approaches. We will also be exploring low fire glazes and alternative firing. This course is the perfect follow up to our other beginner courses for a well rounded understanding of ceramic technique. 
Includes all materials and firing fees.

Raku Firing
with Mal Butterworth

Experience the exciting Japanese technique of raku firing. Mal Butterworth will take you on an informative journey through the raku firing process. Bring your bisque fired pieces or there will be small bowls available to purchase @ $10. Three glazes will be made available or bring your own!!
Pieces must be made of raku clay, so we have no explosions to ruin other works.

Long pants & sleeves and closed shoes required.

Throwing Large Forms
with Barry Tate

DATE: Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 May
TIME: 9.30am - 3.30pm
COST:  $320 or $310 for Pottery/BFF members

Over two days, master ceramicist Barry Tate  is a guest facilitator from interstate. Barry will guide you to work with large sections of clay and teach you how to create your own large forms. Pick up tips on how to make taller and wider wares. Participants will complete two large pieces.
Clay and coloured slips included. 
Suitable for beginner and intermediate potters.
​Optional firing at extra cost.

School Holiday Workshop

During the School Holidays, this fun ceramic workshop will introduce your kids to the wonderful world of ceramics with a focus on Wheel Throwing. Our experienced teacher, Michael Ciavarella (Civa), offers expert advise and guidance as a former TAFE Visual Arts teacher and established ceramicist. Clay & tools provided and you will go home with your creation!! Suitable for Beginners. Ages 7 and up.

Introduction to Glazing

Learn the basics of glazing with glaze maker and founder of 'Learn to Make Glazes for Australian Potters' group, Kim Ulrick. In this crash course you'll learn the fundamentals of glaze making and chemistry, mix your own glaze and create your own line blend. This class is perfect for beginners who have some pottery experience and are ready to being experimenting with their own glaze creations. 
Ticket includes all materials, test tiles and firing fees. 

An Evening with Malcolm Greenwood

​Join renowned potter Malcolm Greenwood for a conversation about his career spanning 43 years. Malcolm will share his knowledge of Japanese and West African pottery techniques, and tableware commissions for Australia's leading restaurants.

Malcolm's high quality porcelain wares have been commissioned by The Bentley Restaurant and Bar, Monopole, Yellow, Masuya Group,Ormeggio and Bennelong and featured inVogue Entertaining, Gourmet Traveller and Vogue Living.
