In collaboration with Noosa Seed Library, Butter Factory Arts Centre present Seed Art Exhibition 
Each Noosa Seed Library seed packet was designed and commissioned by a local artist and are works of art in themselves!
Local artists were commissioned to design the seed packets for the Noosa Seed Library. Original artworks were created for the project by the following  artists who have filled this project with colour and life.
Artists: Anne Yang, Dale Leach, Fiona Groom, Kiah Jardine, Leisa Gunton, Michele Knightley and Sophie Munns.

SeedArt Lab: Seeds to Abstraction 
with Sophie Munns

DATE: Saturday 6 March 2021
​TIME: 10am – 3pm
COST: $135 or $130 for BFF members

​(includes $10 materials)


EVENT: Come and dig into the world of Bio-cultural diversity through the lens of Seeds with a morning of experimental drawing and mark-making followed by an afternoon constructing an artist book to tell your story around seeds & important places in your life using a lively semi-abstract or abstract visual approach, exploring seeds as both motif and symbol.

Sophie Munns launched her Homage to the seed project in 2010 and continues to share this all-encompassing fascination with others.

Sophie Munns is an established Brisbane artist who is a well-travelled seed explorer.

This free Seed Drawing Class will give you the opportunity to sit with Sophie among her collection of seeds amassed over 10 years, you'll be given a twig, some ink and paper and privy to all the wonderful things this amazing woman knows about seeds.

​Seed Drawing with Sophie Munns.

Sophie Munns designed the beautiful Cosmos and Coriander seed packets for the Noosa Seed Library, and as part of the Artists Exhibition she is offering some of her fun and experimental art workshops. Using black Sumi ink and twigs on paper participants can explore the extraordinary seed diversity that exists in our local region & further afield. Sophie will also share discoveries from her 'Homage to the Seed' project started in 2010 on a residency at Brisbane Botanic Gardens. Free. Bookings required. Materials supplied along with a collection of seed material, journals and artist books available to view.
