Shelton's works are held in both public and private collections, including a commission by the Sunshine Coast University Public Hospital of ten works on paper for their public collection in 2016. Her textile installation Votive won the Regional Arts Award for Textiles in 2017 and toured South East Queensland’s regional galleries. She has been shortlisted for the prestigious Brisbane based Clayton Utz prize and also included in 15 Artists at Redcliff City Gallery. Shelton’s awards include the Heritage Art Prize for painting in 2015 and 2017 Gympie Regional Gallery, multiple Regional Arts Development Fund grants through both Gympie and Noosa Shires, and two Arts Queensland Grant awards including the highly competitive Showcase grant award for her solo exhibition Woven.
Most recently Meaghan Shelton was awarded the Du Rietz Sculpture Prize for her work Diving Helmet and Overlay and took up her curatorial appointment by invitation- Rites of Passage for Gympie Regional Gallery also in 2019. She is currently engaged by invitation as Artist in Residence for the Kia Sulc Artist Residency S.E. Queensland, a commissioned sculpture for Gympie Regional council and commencing Doctoral studies in 2021.
