Media: Open to any and all traditional and non-traditional visual arts 2D and 3D media applicable to the theme of the beauty of the human form.
The Butter Factory Arts Centre (BFAC) invites artists to submit works in any media, of any style, for consideration in the the BFAC’s first Art of the Body, an exhibition celebrating the beauty of the human form from a variety of perspectives. The exhibition is scheduled in the Butter Box space at the Butter Factory Arts Centre from 6 April – 8 May 2018 to coincide with the Australian Body Art Festival being held in Cooroy (7 – 8 April 2018). The Australian Body Art Festival attracted huge crowds of 7000 visitors to Cooroy over the two days in 2017 with more tipped for 2018.
Interested artists should contact the BFAC requesting an entry form. A completed entry form, a cv, including art experience, and up to 5 artworks, in JPG format should be returned to firstname.lastname@example.org by 4pm Monday 22 January, 2018. No late entries will be considered. Please ensure all paperwork sent by post is received by this same date. Email entry process is preferred. However, discs and paperwork may be mailed to the address provided.
It is anticipated that artists will be notified by Friday 16 February 2017 should they be successful in their application. All selected artists/entries will be chosen by a selection panel whose decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
Upon selection, artists will be required to confirm their entries (which includes Title, Medium, Size, Year of Creation and Retail Price -including 35% commission - for each artwork accepted), provide a brief artist bio and artist statement. All works must be for sale.
ENTRY FEE Each entry must be accompanied by a non-refundable entry fee of $20.00 (incl gst) per entry. The BFAC is run by a non-profit community organization that needs income to keep the facility open. All proceeds from entry fees fund exhibition-related expenses.
