Alla Prima Painting Workshop

EVENT: 
Join artist Lauren Jones for a fun oil painting workshop that explores the ‘alla prima’ technique. Alla Prima is a direct painting approach where paint is applied wet on wet without letting the earlier layers dry. The workshop will explore shape and tone as a part of a gestural and expressive painting practice. Oil paint, canvas and brushes all supplied. Participants will take home a ‘finished artwork’.

EVENT: Participants will experience a profound joy of creating long lasting colourful artworks using hand made and locally found earth pigment powders. Discover the rich vibrant palette of earth and mineral based pigments. Be guided how to mix the powders into various thick and thin textures and opaque and transparent hues. The Flying with Rainbows earth pigment painting workshops are colour explorations transforming the way we think about paint in todays world. EVENT: 
Grounding with ochre and learning through traditional connection to nature. Join artist Sara Moore as she takes you on a journey of nature from earth to body with ochre paint. Create clapsticks and a ‘palm frond coolamon’ to take home.
Sara Moore of Ocher Bee (her flourishing business) sets intention to create a safe space to be ourselves through connecting to nature. Healing comes through connecting with natural materials, reading wood and wearing ochre.
Participants will make clapsticks and a ‘palm frond coolamon’ to take home with them.
The workshop will also include exploring painting with ochre. Ancient traditions of learning the process of preparing the coolamon and ochre paint.
There will be a demonstration of traditional scalloping or wood burning.
All materials will be provided.

7 Sisters Sacred Arts Masterclass is a yarning circle organically covering 3 ancient art forms

1. Kamut : Finger Weaving also know as Cats Cradle
2. Ancient Sacred Geometrical Chalk Art with our Kamut String
3. Golden Rainbow Light Alchemy

Kamut is played weaving a piece of looped string between our fingers, thumbs, wrists, teeth, and even other people’s body parts creating shapes, unfold to become an ancient library of a culture. 
Ancient Sacred Geometrical Chalk Art is created with our looped Kamut string. Adding a stick and a piece of chalk, our Kamut String becomes an ancient compass, allowing us to create simply stellar geometries.
Golden Rainbow Light Alchemy colour spectrum is gifted to us through our Sisters and is an ancient golden light chakra system allowing us to enter into a the long awaited Golden Age Of Enlightenment space of non-judgement.

LEARN from accomplished First Nations artist Peter Mulcahy AKA  Muraay Djeripi,  who is committed to culture while his signature fine lines, attention to detail and deep, stirring stories set him apart.

USING examples of Aboriginal art,  recreate unique symbols that fit your own individual stories.

 Although you will be learning from an indigenous artist the class is not about recreating indigenous work but about using symbology to create your own unique work.

Join us for this rare Masterclass opportunity to learn the Portrait Secrets with Archibald finalist Jandamarra Cadd.

CREATE an acrylic underpainting portrait guided by Jandamarra prior to learning some secrets of oil glazes achieving form & depth to your canvas. This exciting workshop has been made possible by a community projects grant thanks to Flying Arts and the Australian Government Regional Arts Fund

A fun, creative drawing workshop with local artist and art educator Ruth Horton, will explore the mediums of charcoal, ink and watercolour on large sheets of paper. Having travelled extensively Ruth’s art practice explores a myriad of themes and mediums. She captures scenes of flora and fauna in a highly personal, lively and colourful way. Currently her attention has focused on the natural environment with birds, fish and coastal themes predominating. Artists in the workshop will be encouraged to express their ideas in a creative and encouraging environment. Participants will create studies of natural plant and animal life rendered in charcoal, ink and watercolour, which will combine to form images that reflect the diversity of Noosa and its surrounds.





5 DAY Cold Wax Abstract Painting Intensive Workshop - SOLD OUT

Discover the seductive rich qualities of cold wax medium, oil paints and other mixed media. Experienced and generous tutors, Kym Barrett and Cheryl McGannon will guide you through this five day intensive workshop in an atmosphere of experimentation and play.  You will be introduced to many new techniques to enhance and grow your current art practice.
Both Cheryl and Kym are award winning artists who have exhibited nationally and internationally. 

​By their joint teaching this exciting Cold Wax Workshop, you will be exposed to rich, diverse ideologies and inspirational teaching.

There will be ample demonstrations and presentations about abstraction, design and developing your own personal creative voice. Participants will have plenty of time to paint and notes on techniques and process will be provided.

This workshop could push your artwork to the next level!
